In 1999 MORI carried out a survey of South Bank and Bankside residents. A public swimming and indoor and outdoor sports facilities were amongst the most wanted facilities for the area. For parents, childcare facilities were a priority. Since that time CSCB has worked with Lambeth and Southwark Councils and two local charities to secure 4 new outdoor sports pitches and a new family & children’s centre. The swimming pool and indoor leisure facilities are to be secured as part of the ‘Doon Street’ development.
